My moving date was flexible so when I called NYC Manhattan Movers to inquire about pricing, my relocation consultant Anna helped me find the cheapest date to move. I was able to get an estimate over the phone by telling her details like how many dressers needed to be moved and whether the new place had an elevator or not (otherwise they'll make an appointment to come over and inspect how much stuff you have themselves). Their quote was the cheapest I'd found so I booked right away. The movers arrived as scheduled at 8:30 a.m. and got to work, reinforcing boxes I'd packed up with tape, packing clothes into wardrobe boxes they'd brought (it was a free service!!!) and hustling to get everything into the truck. We had a good exprience with NYC Moving Manhattan Movers. We had also received quotes from Flatrate and Moishes after they performed an on-site survey. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers went only by the inventory I gave them. Flatrate came at $250 more than NYC Moving Manhattan Movers and they had more negative reviews so we chose NYC Moving Manhattan Movers. Moishe's quote was thirteen hunded dollars more than NYC Moving Manhattan Movers', but their services included full packing of our stuff (so we wouldn't have to pack in advance) plus the cost of boxes. They dropped their estimate $600 when I showed them the lower quotes from Flatrate and NYC Moving Manhattan Movers, which makes me think they were trying to rip me off in the first place by quoting me an inflated rate... on the day of the move, the NYC Moving Manhattan Movers crew showed up 20 mins early (yes, early, I was surprised too). We had to pay $22 extra in tolls, a charge that wasn't brought up when we received the estimate. We also paid $110 for travel time, but this was included in the estimate (I tried to negotiate a lower charge for this in advance but wasn't successful). The estimate was a flat rate, so no surprises at the end (besides the aforementioned toll charge). We did have to pay for some extra boxes, but we knew the price per box beforehand. Please note that we had packed all of our stuff in advance, except a few bulky things. The price quoted included 5 wardrobe boxes, but the supervisor said he would add additional ones at no charge, if needed (I don't think we needed extra). We bought $50 insurance just in case. The movers were carefull with our stuff, including our two big-screen TVs and pedestals. All our glass items (coffee table, TV pedestal pieces, mirrors) made it intact. There was no damage to our furniture or my electronic equipment and 88-key synthesizer. We had four movers and they were all polite. So far, nothing is missing, i think they delivered everything as expected, including the stuff they packed (four medium sized boxes). The movers worked fast. They took two short breaks, one at each location (we bought them coffee and munchies from Dunkin Donuts, which they seemed to appreciate). At the end we tipped them 20% of the total bill (I originally gave them 18% but they asked for a bit more, which I didn't have much trouble giving them). Overall, we had a very good experience. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers made our move less stressful. I would use them again and would recommend their services.

She had told me they did a stellar job for them. I called them up about a month prior before my move. I worked out all the details with a consultant named Andy. Very nice person by the way. At this point we went over a few different scenarios. We decided to rewards ourselves and have these guys do a full pack of our home in Staten Island. Let me tell ... "They operate a scam; they rip you off and try to get extra money from you when they deliver your goods. i would call that kidnapping . Not only did they charge me overweight for my move, when i questioned the weight and requested a reweigh they started to redirect the driver to every area but mine. They overcharged almost 1000 lbs from what i knew was my weight. They also have a partner in BUDGET MOVERS who was the broker on this deal. See my rating for them my real rating would be 0. I think that most of these ratings are false. i cannot believe that there are this many people who actually these guys are legit. They have been reported to the Dept of Transportation for deceptive practices"

We originally scheduled a move with another company 2 months in advance knowing full well it was a holiday weekend so we wanted to be 100% sure we would be picked up on time. We even called the company on Monday to verify pick up for Thursday or Friday and the dispatch (at least they claimed to be dispatch) but now we are sure it’s not even a legit company and most likely 1 or 2 people working from a shanty apartment or some little cubicle. Wednesday we called again and could not get anyone on the phone and no messages were returned. Thursday the same thing, Thursday late afternoon our search for a new moving company that could pick and move us last minute began. We called a dozen local companies to no avail. Either they were booked solid or closed. We went online and started with the get a free moving quote websites and received emails and a few calls and when we looked those companies up they had horrible reviews, were brand new companies, or had D or F ratings with the better business bureau. We called local truck rental companies and they had zero availability for long distance and even if they did their largest truck wouldn't fit our 17,000 pound move. After searching for a day we found mover reviews and starting dialing down the list and received quotes from 3 companies. Now, NYC Moving Manhattan Movers was the highest by more than $900.00. The last "movers" quoted us $4700.00 for the exact same weight and after Martin explained to me the distance, holiday, peak-season, packing etc, it all made sense to us. We chose a cheap company that could not get us moved for almost the same price for renting 2 hauls which is what we would need. Boris promised me that a truck would be at our house at some point Sunday (today) because they had a tractor trailer unloading a large move about 260 miles away and if we did book their services he would make sure they were re-routed to our home instead of back east. Since we didn't have much of a choice and both my husband and I spent almost an hour on the phone with Martin that day, we went ahead and booked NYC Moving Manhattan Movers for pick-up set for today. I have photos I will attach at the end of this review; their crew, Bob, Terrece and George arrived at our front door at 8:30 am and have been working like mad for the last several hours. We aren't scheduled to be delivered into our new house in Columbia for another 7 days so we know this review is a little premature, however, we wanted to tell everyone, there still are good, honest, hard-working companies out there and this is one of them. The guys still have a LONG way to go with packing and loading, but they were so nice and professional and even though they unloaded a huge move yesterday and had to drive a long way, we wouldn't even know it unless they told us. They are pros and that is why we are happy the other movers didn't show up because we probably would have gotten screwed somehow in the end. We will update this review once our items

Alan was very professional over the phone when I was in the booking process and answered most of my questions for me before I even had to ask which I appreciated and once I booked my move with NYC Moving Manhattan Movers everything from there was handled in a professional manner also. When the actual movers showed up in the afternoon of my moving date they took care of me and put me at ease knowing that my stuff would arrive in Columbia and I was in good hands. Roger the driver was very nice and the movers were very happy with the fact that we bought them pizza and drinks at lunchtime. I would refer these guys to other people looking for a moving company that can do their move professionally.

I moved about 4 weeks ago here in the area and I am very glad that I finally found a good moving company. This Moving Company has a great stuff, excellent customer service and good movers! Joe from customer service was always there if I had some questions. One day before they confirmed the move again and to my surprise the next day Michael and his crew arrived 15min before scheduled! All in all excellent service, great communication and very cheap rates! Call these guys and enjoy moving.

Even though we have moved several times over the last 20 years, each time has been very stressful for our family and our animals (we have 3 dogs and 4 cats) but each time thankfully has been pretty good and I guess we have been lucky and out of those moves the only considerable damage was to an oversized armoire. Our last relocation through NYC Moving Manhattan Movers was our first with them and close to the best. They were very reasonably priced and easy to work with and very thorough and professional to speak with. Our furniture arrived without and visible damage and the delivery time was quick enough at 8 days and our price wasn't changed on us after pick-up. Drivers were professional and everything turned out really good. All in all excellent customer service, great communication with the manager and very skilled movers. We would recommend NYC Moving Manhattan Movers to anyone.

I spoke to Stan on 3/15/11 and booked our truck for 4/9/11 or 4/10/11 and both dates had a very specific time frame for elevator usage, between 8am and 12pm on the 9th and 11am and 3pm on the 10th. Their driver called on the 7th and advised me it would be the 9th at 8am. Time showed up on time on the 9th, however, he showed up in a semi truck which was about 75 feet long and way too big to get anywhere near our building so they had to rent a Penske truck in order to do the pick-up. We were not sure during the booking process whether or not the tractor would be able to access and were told up front of the fees associated with the rental ($250.00 based on our weight) and we called the dispatching department to see if they could help out in any way with the price considering we had never moved with a large truck and actually did the move ourselves with a haul truck when we moved in a year and a half ago. The dispatcher, Neil was terrific and told us to take $50.00 off of the shuttle charge considering the weight was so minimal. We really appreciated that even though they did not have to help out, they did anyway. Timothy was so professional and polite, it only took him and Peter 3 hours to wrap and load everything. Delivery was quick at 3 days and nothing at all was damaged and the only additional charges was for the shuttle. Very happy customer and we were asked to post a review regardless of how the move went. we are happy to say it was awesome.

Experienced, courteous, efficient and professional are a few words that come to mind when I think of these Manhattan Movers. We recently sold our home and had to put most of our possessions in storage. Promptly and without deliberation, these guys moved the contents of our home into a storage in Brooklyn. I was impressed with the precision, organization and carefulness they exhibited during the lengthy process. they choreographed the move so beautifully and did not mar a single wall. I will soon be moving into a new home and have already contacted NYC Manhattan Movers to move my possessions, again. This local New York City moving company definitely surpassed my expectations! Last month I used NYC Moving Manhattan Movers to move from New York City to Atlantic City. The driver and movers were polite, efficient, and respectful. Turnaround time was excellent, at about 5 days. I was informed of the pickup and dropoff times 2 days in advance, and the drivers were promptly on time for each. What I most enjoyed was that my belongings never left the truck to be transferred through a warehouse, the truck that showed up at the final destination was the same truck with the same two drivers. Billing was accurate with no hidden surprises. My only complaint is the 4% surcharge for paying with a credit card, but getting a cashier's check instead isn't too big of a hassle. All in all, I highly recommend and will certainly be using them again for my next move. Thanks!

We were moving our furniture and some additional stuff from our house in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to a storage unit in Astoria in Queens last month. We decided to hire this local moving service company based on our previous experience with NYC Manhattan Movers in 2009. We were extremely pleased with the help we've got from their Customer Service lady. The entire stuff including our moving crew and the Office staff were courteous, professional, and worked very hard, helping us to schedule our relocation and the movers for carrying heavy furniture and boxes up and down stairs for 5+hours. We are very pleased and will definitely use these movers again!

We had a different Manhattan moving company ( I didn't want to mention it but these clowns were Remarkable Movers/ Certified Movers/ or whatever they are in their real life) that canceled our local move in Manhattan at the very last minute as their said their truck broke down and they were not sure that they can get on time to my place in Midtown. Wow, what a service!!! My neighbour told me to call NYC Manhattan Movers, he told me that his daughter used this company for her move from New York City to Queens and that they were able to accommodate her move with a very short notice. I did call them and they did schedule the move for the next day. I guess everything that happens - happens from a reason because this company's crew was fantastic. The man were working very hard, did not stop even when I offered them pizza for lunch. They were very polite and respectful. I'm thankful for the work they've done for me and my family. I called NYC Moving Manhattan Movers for my last minute move on December, 30th and the customer service gentleman was very nice, I expected some unreal price since the date was hot and I expected to pay a lot more but the company didn't charge me extras, they provided my move on the next day and they finished at 6 pm on 12/31, I was very pleased with these guys and service they provided to me moving my furniture from Midtown Manhattan to Bayonne, NJ and want to say Thank You as well as recommend this Manhattan moving company to anyone looking for a good local mover!

"I had a HORRIBLE MOVE WITH YOUR COMPANY I will always remember you for the HORRIBLE move you did - I wanted to take a minute to express how MAD I was with the service I received from this HOORIBLE Movers , I called the 800-number looking for a small move to be made to a vacation home within a few days. Erika took all my info and assured me he would be able to help out. She was NOT friendly and NOT helpful at ALL {I should never reserve my move -}. Then to top this off they STEAL my large framed antique map that was given to me by my grandfather. After calling these guys repeatedly over the past month and leaving voice messages with these guys to find out when they are going to give me map back, pay for the dresser they broke the still have yet to return my calls. "My neighbor upstairs (3 condo unit) used New York Movers movers when she moved out a few years ago, and they parked their giant truck within inches of my wife's car in our parking lot. I was worried that they would end up hitting or scratching it, so I took pictures of their truck's precarious position. Then, after they left, I went down to see if there was any damage - sure enough, there was a GIANT scrape along the passenger side back door and rear quarter panel! I took pictures of this as well and sent them a letter explaining the situation. They never responded. Everything was denied on subsequent phone calls to follow up, including ever having received my letter and photos. "Shady" is too charitable a term to describe this operation. Avoid at all costs."

I called New York Movers to get a quote on my upcoming move....I got someone name Mikeon the phone. I was treated horribly and when I asked to speak to a manager I was hung up on. There are so many moving companies why would I ever choose a place which allows their employees to treat potential customers so rudely and with complete disregard????"

This company moved me from index Queens middle town west side to downtown NYC. The price I paid was more then 2.5 bigger their “estimate”. But it not worse after their moving I found a 3 small packs with white powder inside my sofa!!!!!! I was really scared, I throw packs out. Those people use furniture to transport drugs, they are drug dealers!!!!! Nobody from my family ever use a drug!!!!!

Erika took all my info and assured me he would be able to help out. She was NOT friendly and NOT helpful at ALL {I should never reserve my move -}. She gave me a price quote and explained what I should ask about if I was going to shop around. I explained that the date was not definite because we were waiting on a certificate of occupancy. She told me not to worry – I guess she was making fun of me; she would work it out if I had to switch dates. I was going to shop your price but quite frankly Erika was NOT accommodating and NOT helpful. I decided just to go with your company. I inevitably had to cancel my date and put my move on hold. When I was ready Erika did not quickly rescheduled the move. My new date was set for Wednesday, and I called on Friday to see if I could change the time because I did not realize if I started at my home between 2 and 4 I would be home too late on a school night for my children. Erika was not there but whoever answered the phone said NO PROBLEM, We will do it – that was a lie – this guy was just trying to get a other call. On Sunday, the movers arrive NOT ON TIME AT ALL , NOT COURTEOUS AND NOT HARD WORKING AND DAMAGE ALL OUR WALLS – not respectful – in one words ANIMALS - I have use other movers in my life but ANIMALS like your movers NEVER SAW IN MY ENTIRE LIFE – you and your guys are A SCAM MOVING COMPANY – HORRIBLE MOVERS""

"I searched for a great price for a long distance move. I called them and their staff was very pleasant, up until we paid upon pickup. The pickup was on time and the movers were polite. It was then that we found that they forced us to purchase $100 worth of boxes that we did not need (we were told not to box the mirrors and pictures, so we packaged accordingly). So even though their contract states that they are not liable for any damages, they made us purchase them and proceeded to box the mirrors and pictures. Day of the move after our belongings were packed they brought out a new, revised contract. The boxes increased our cubic footage by over 75 cft which in turn added more money to our initial quote. Then we find that there are ridiculous fee's for the delivery and added costs of the move, when we were told that we were disclosed ALL fee's prior to signing our initial contract. Very deceptive and unethical business practice. The movers had delayed our move several times, and we didn't find out until we had to call them again and again. And the staff was very unknowledgeable, rude, and pushy. The delivery staff (Golan, who used to own the company, ran it into the ground and then someone bought his business but still has him as an employee) consistently lied about the delivery date and gave unintelligible excuses. Upon arrival of our belongings the movers immediately talked about tips, and how they "are poor moving guys, we live off of tips", and begun to just toss my things on the ground, while Golan just stands around talking on the phone, yelling at his fellow employee. He then harassed a patron at a public storage facility (which I had to purchase because of the extraordinary fee's it would cost to deliver at my home), which then I was warned by the manager to somehow keep Golan in check. Golan said that the storage space was too far away and wanted to charge a "long carry" fee. My contract said the first 150ft is free, and the distance was precisely 146ft. He tried to say I only get 75ft free, and demanded that I pay him in cash for the long carry fee even though in the contract it states that any additional fee incurred does not have to be paid at the time of delivery, and up to a month afterwards. He then stopped moving and I had to call the office to get my things unloaded. He tried to say he couldn't fit his 53' truck into a 60', 53' truck parking space and attempted to charge me $350 "shuttle" fee. All my furniture had damage to the corners, my couch and bed was wet (torn the plastic bags I put them in). This was a horrible experience and they did not attempt to resolve this issue whatsoever. Highly disappointed and I wonder why there is barely any liability for moving companies. Disgusting"

""I had contracted New York City Best Movers Manhattan Moving Company to move my things from Toledo OH to New York City. Before the move I and my fiancé were told that if we did not pack everything and the movers had to then we would be charged for the packaging. We worked with Bonnie in the dispatch office and bought bubble wrap for the TV, mirrors, pictures, anything breakable. We also supplied our own boxes and taped them up. In the contract it stipulated that blankets and quilts would be provided to cover our furniture. When the movers arrived in Toledo on July 18 2010, it was only my fiancé home as I was on a business trip. She was told that she would have to pay $75 to box up the mattress and box spring, even though this had never been mentioned to us before. I asked customer service about this and then eventually the owner of the company and was told that we had the option of signing off on it and they would take it as is, my fiancé was not told this, she was told that if she didn't sign for the extra charges then they could not take the mattress. Distressed and feeling bullied she signed. Next they told us that we had to pay for 21 rolls of tape to tape the quilts and blankets onto our furniture. Remember these are the same quilts and blankets that we were told were provided. Apparently the quilts and blankets are provided but the tape to put them on with is not. This came to another $75. When I tried to call and speak to Erika the woman I had arranged the move with she was rude to me for about 5 minutes before telling me this was not her department and she could not help me. She then transferred me to customer service where I was told that I had to pay the movers and then they would send me a check back. I told them I would rather balance the amount I owe and just pay the movers $150 less and was told that I would have to speak with a someone named Sam. I called Sam a few times that day and never received a response back even after leaving a message, that was on a Friday. That following Sunday at 8pm I received a call from the driver telling me that he was going to be at my home 8am the next morning. That morning I frantically tried to get a hold of Joanne and was told that she would be in at 9. I called several times after 9 and was told by others that she was not in, and eventually someone other than her told me that she could not help me and I needed to work it out with the driver and then if I could not have him call and speak with his manager. His name was Sacha. He was uncooperative and when I asked him to call his manager he said that if he did I would be charged an extra $100 for making them wait. I called Sam one more time and finally got a hold of him only to be transferred immediately to Svetlana, the owner of the company. Svetlana cut me off repeatedly and told me that it was now too late to deal with any of the charges and that my fiancé should have called them when the things were being picked

NYC Moving Manhattan Movers did a great job for me. They moved me from Manhattan to Miami, FL. When I called the office they were more than helpful in making sure I got the information I needed or asked for. Their pricing was great compared to other quotes. When they showed up (on time) they started right in and humped the things that needed to be packed quick and efficiently. They did not drag their feet to prolong the process. In fact we finished well ahead of my expectations by hours. There was no breakage of my belongings either. They wrapped and packed things very well. I had over 15 large pieces of glass from table tops and mirrors that they loaded, moved and unloaded without any problems. They were upbeat and happy to be working. We also had a pick-up at a storage unit. This was no problem and they packed the truck with the stop planned to make unloading quicker. I truly did appreciate the job that they completed.They were on time for pick up and delivery and the price they quoted me was a "No Excuse Price". The price did not change. No damage and the guys that packed and moved us were efficent and very friendly. I would highly recommend them. Great job guys!

we have these guys to move our furniture from Brooklyn to Forest Hills in Queens. From start to finish, our moving experience with this company was very easy. Every facet of the move was impeccably handled with ability, competence, and incredibly hard work (Our new apartment is a 4th floor walk-up.) They provided free extra boxes and tape when we ran out, helped to pack what we hadn't finished before they arrived, and dismantled and reassembled several pieces of furniture handling any problem with grace and professionalism. Their service has been friendly, courteous and always on time. They have accommodated special needs like multiple location pick up and delivery with never a complaint. The most recent time they couldn't get the truck past a tree blocking the driveway so they went away, packed our stuff onto a smaller truck and came back the same day and delivered our stuff. No questions asked. We will use them again for our next move for sure

I just moved from Baltimore to New York City and my experience with this company was very positive. I booked my move with Anna and she was awesome and beyond professional, after booking I then delt with Andrew the operations manager and he was equally a joy to deal with. This is my 4th long distance move and NYC Movers just exceede my expectations in every way possible. The day of the pick up the movers showed up on time with great attitudes and positive energy, these guys wrapped and packed my items with care to perfection. Bill and his crew were just amazing at what they do. I have used major vanlines before and they can't compare to these guys as far as moving service and price is concerned, at this point all i can say is you guys are the best. I would highly recommend Manhattan Movers to anyone that is looking for a reliable long distance moving company.

Got quotes from other "top" moving companies and their rates were double. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers is professional, reliable and great to work with. This is the first time I got movers and I was annoyed at how expensive some of the other quotes were. Thankfully I relied on the reviews posted here and called up for a quote. It was affordable and stress-free. They were flexible with the amount of boxes I expected to have and they were polite at all times. The movers arrived on time, did their job and left without incident. They worked hard and never came across as threatening or sketchy. I was very pleased with their service and can't say enough good words about NYC Moving Manhattan Movers that not only moved my 2 bedroom apartment from Upper East Side to Downtown Manhattan on July, 21 but my mother's studio as well. The weather was crazy hot, but they worked without any complaints, they carefully wrapped each piece of furniture up (for free!!!) and did not slow down the move. Mark and his crew were hard workers!! Their office was very helpful calling to make sure everything is going good.

So far, nothing is missing, i think they delivered everything as expected, including the stuff they packed (four medium sized boxes). The movers worked fast. They took two short breaks, one at each location (we bought them coffee and munchies from Dunkin Donuts, which they seemed to appreciate). At the end we tipped them 20% of the total bill (I originally gave them 18% but they asked for a bit more, which I didn't have much trouble giving them). Overall, we had a very good experience. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers made our move less stressful. I would use them again and would recommend their services.

NYC Moving Manhattan Movers went only by the inventory I gave them. Flatrate came at $250 more than NYC Moving Manhattan Movers and they had more negative reviews so we chose NYC Moving Manhattan Movers. Moishe's quote was thirteen hunded dollars more than NYC Moving Manhattan Movers', but their services included full packing of our stuff (so we wouldn't have to pack in advance) plus the cost of boxes. They dropped their estimate $600 when I showed them the lower quotes from Flatrate and NYC Moving Manhattan Movers, which makes me think they were trying to rip me off in the first place by quoting me an inflated rate... on the day of the move, the NYC Moving Manhattan Movers crew showed up 20 mins early (yes, early, I was surprised too). We had to pay $22 extra in tolls, a charge that wasn't brought up when we received the estimate. We also paid $110 for travel time, but this was included in the estimate (I tried to negotiate a lower charge for this in advance but wasn't successful). The estimate was a flat rate, so no surprises at the end (besides the aforementioned toll charge). We did have to pay for some extra boxes, but we knew the price per box beforehand. Please note that we had packed all of our stuff in advance, except a few bulky things. The price quoted included 5 wardrobe boxes, but the supervisor said he would add additional ones at no charge, if needed (I don't think we needed extra). We bought $50 insurance just in case. The movers were carefull with our stuff, including our two big-screen TVs and pedestals. All our glass items (coffee table, TV pedestal pieces, mirrors) made it intact. There was no damage to our furniture or my electronic equipment and 88-key synthesizer. We had four movers and they were all polite. They are affordable, clean, courteous and used care in handling my furniture and valuables. For the past few years I moved 3 times. Moving was always a hard process that use to be a difficult expensive experience. I was recommended by a friend to try NYC Moving Manhattan Movers; and since I couldn't find even one moving company I could trust on in the past, I called NYC Moving Manhattan Movers Moving Company to check rates and to get an estimate. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers different approach was felt immediately; I was given decent rates and a reasonable estimate of time, despite my poor experience in the past; I felt that this time I was given all the information, so there was no room for extra bizarre charges at the end of the move. The move itself was preformed smoothly with a qualified professional fast crew that explained and reported me through out the move about each and every step they make. During the move I also received another Phone call from the company to make sure I'm pleased with the service and to verify all's well. Everyone we came in contact with at NYC Movers from the office personnel to the movers were very helpful and courteous. The move itself could have been a disaster if we had used a different moving company. We arranged to have our house packed up and moved on July 26th. Ian, Andrew and Mark came on the 26th at 8am and began working almost immediately, writing down every piece and stickering every box, they put sticky plastic floor covering down on our carpets, cardboard and padding on our hardwood flooring. These 3 men did not stop for a second until everything was wrapped, marked, and loaded which took about 5 hours. After the packing was finished, they picked up our things from Manhattan Mini Storage and delivered everything to Selden, Long Island. They unwrapped everything and it was all intact and in the same condition as it went into their truck. In our opinion, we couldn't have chosen a better more professional company. Our final price including the packing was $3,511.00 which was $290.00 less than the estimate, and we tipped the Ian $500.00 for the job well done. If we ever have to move again, we will be using this Moving Company and will pass on the good word about them and how they operate.

They operate a scam, they rip you off and try to get extra money from you when they deliver your goods. i would call that kidnapping . not only did they charge me overweight for my move, when i questioned the weight and requested a reweigh they started to redirect the driver to every area but mine. they overcharged almost 1000 lbs from what i knew was my weight. they also have a partner in budget movers who was the broker on this deal. see my rating for them my real rating would be 0. i think that most of these ratings are false. i can not believe that there are this many people who actually these guys are legit. they have been reported to the Dept of Transportation for deceptive practices

We moved from Cambridge, MA to Manhattan and the owner Dave Malka promised us best service ever. He also said that we would have such a great experience we would never want to use another company anymore. WELL: First they made a fixed price they changed afterwards, which one could argue was still in the realm of acceptable behaviors.. Then, the movers pressured my wife (almost physically) to give them more tip. She had given them 90 USD but they wanted at least 150. I am not sure if tipping is customary with such high prices. My university colleagues tell me tipping in interstate moves is illegal.. Even if that is not accurate, that kind of tipping is price and not tip, and the physical threats were just unacceptable. Third, they did not deliver ONE full box, which had my computer in it. As we checked in the old place and in new house and nothing was there, it was not delivered. We believe that the movers were mad for not getting the tip they wanted and so they either dumped it or sold the stuff. I tried many times to get a hold of Dave to check things out, but he blocked my calls, never called back and never answered emails.. So all I can do is to spread the word to NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS

They sound very nice on the phone but don't be fooled, these people are CAREER CRIMINALS, sadly only one company among what has become an epidemic in NYC. Made up mostly of illegal Israeli immigrants, these companies hide behind outdated laws and prey upon people making long-distance moves. They are currently being investigated by the FBI and I hope every one of these dirt bags like David and Asher Malka, Sam and Edgar all get their heads beaten in with a brick. I searched for a great price for a long distance move. I called them and their staff was very pleasant, up until we paid upon pickup. The pickup was on time and the movers were polite. It was then that we found that they forced us to purchase $100 worth of boxes that we did not need (we were told not to box the mirrors and pictures, so we packaged accordingly). So even though their contract states that they are not liable for any damages, they made us purchase them and proceeded to box the mirrors and pictures. Day of the move after our belongings were packed they brought out a new, revised contract. The boxes increased our cubic footage by over 75 cft which in turn added more money to our initial quote. Then we find that there are ridiculous fee's for the delivery and added costs of the move, when we were told that we were disclosed ALL fee's prior to signing our initial contract. Very deceptive and unethical business practice. The movers had delayed our move several times, and we didn't find out until we had to call them again and again. And the staff was very unknowledgeable, rude, and pushy. The delivery staff (Golan, who used to own the company, ran it into the ground and then someone bought his business but still has him as an employee) consistently lied about the delivery date and gave unintelligible excuses. Upon arrival of our belongings the movers immediately talked about tips, and how they "are poor moving guys, we live off of tips", and begun to just toss my things on the ground, while Golan just stands around talking on the phone, yelling at his fellow employee. He then harassed a patron at a public storage facility (which I had to purchase because of the extraordinary fee's it would cost to deliver at my home), which then I was warned by the manager to somehow keep Golan in check. Golan said that the storage space was too far away and wanted to charge a "long carry" fee. My contract said the first 150ft is free, and the distance was precisely 146ft. He tried to say I only get 75ft free, and demanded that I pay him in cash for the long carry fee even though in the contract it states that any additional fee incurred does not have to be paid at the time of delivery, and up to a month afterwards. He then stopped moving and I had to call the office to get my things unloaded. He tried to say he couldn't fit his 53' truck into a 60', 53' truck parking space and attempted to charge me $350 "shuttle" fee. All my furniture had damage to the corners, my couch and bed was wet (torn the plastic bags I put them in). This was a horrible experience and they did not attempt to resolve this issue whatsoever. Highly disappointed and I wonder why there is barely any liability for moving companies. Disgusting

"I had contracted New York City Best Movers Manhattan Moving Company to move my things from Toledo OH to New York City. Before the move I and my fiancé were told that if we did not pack everything and the movers had to then we would be charged for the packaging. We worked with Bonnie in the dispatch office and bought bubble wrap for the TV, mirrors, pictures, anything breakable. We also supplied our own boxes and taped them up. In the contract it stipulated that blankets and quilts would be provided to cover our furniture. When the movers arrived in Toledo on July 18 2010, it was only my fiancé home as I was on a business trip. She was told that she would have to pay $75 to box up the mattress and box spring, even though this had never been mentioned to us before. I asked customer service about this and then eventually the owner of the company and was told that we had the option of signing off on it and they would take it as is, my fiancé was not told this, she was told that if she didn't sign for the extra charges then they could not take the mattress. Distressed and feeling bullied she signed. Next they told us that we had to pay for 21 rolls of tape to tape the quilts and blankets onto our furniture. Remember these are the same quilts and blankets that we were told were provided. Apparently the quilts and blankets are provided but the tape to put them on with is not. This came to another $75. When I tried to call and speak to Erika the woman I had arranged the move with she was rude to me for about 5 minutes before telling me this was not her department and she could not help me. She then transferred me to customer service where I was told that I had to pay the movers and then they would send me a check back. I told them I would rather balance the amount I owe and just pay the movers $150 less and was told that I would have to speak with a someone named Sam. I called Sam a few times that day and never received a response back even after leaving a message, that was on a Friday. That following Sunday at 8pm I received a call from the driver telling me that he was going to be at my home 8am the next morning. That morning I frantically tried to get a hold of Joanne and was told that she would be in at 9. I called several times after 9 and was told by others that she was not in, and eventually someone other than her told me that she could not help me and I needed to work it out with the driver and then if I could not have him call and speak with his manager. His name was Sacha. He was uncooperative and when I asked him to call his manager he said that if he did I would be charged an extra $100 for making them wait. I called Sam one more time and finally got a hold of him only to be transferred immediately to Svetlana, the owner of the company. Svetlana cut me off repeatedly and told me that it was now too late to deal with any of the charges and that my fiancé should have called them when the things were being picked up.

"I moved my business and family from Manhattan to Selden, Long Island last Sunday through NYC Moving Manhattan Movers and they were thorough and professional throughout the entire moving process. It was a pleasant communication with Jeremy from company's Customer service and the moving crew was incredibly detailed with everything they did. At our origin there was our main residence to be moved and also our office which consisted of 10 cubicles, 12 desks, computer systems, telephones, fax equiptment etc...... These guys came in, packed everything, protected everything and moved it all in 2 days to Long Island. Our move took up most of the 53 foot semi truck so they said it would be a pretty quick delivery and that it was. Really could'nt be happier with the movers and all of my transactions with NYC Moving Manhattan Movers. The final price was just as estimated, they took care of all my belongings and the moving service the company provided was excellent!Good price, nice customer service!"

I was moving localy from Brooklyn to Hoboken New Jersey, but I had a lot of stuff and furniture. I didn't want to pack or haul anything my self, so I hired moving company to help me. Out of all the movers in the area I liked NYC Moving Manhattan Movers the most. First of all I've already used them and also the Customer service lady gave me very reasonable price and sounded very professional during our phone communication. The movers came on time and worked very hard and fast. They packed everything for me, wrapped my furniture and loaded the truck. After the job foreman told me that I can also get a 4% discount if I'd pay cash instead of credit card, so I did. I'm very happy I hired NYC Moving Manhattan Movers guys. I had contracted New York City Best Movers Manhattan Moving Company to move my things from Toledo OH to New York City. Before the move I and my fiancé were told that if we did not pack everything and the movers had to then we would be charged for the packaging. We worked with Bonnie in the dispatch office and bought bubble wrap for the TV, mirrors, pictures, anything breakable. We also supplied our own boxes and taped them up. In the contract it stipulated that blankets and quilts would be provided to cover our furniture. When the movers arrived in Toledo on July 18 2010, it was only my fiancé home as I was on a business trip. She was told that she would have to pay $75 to box up the mattress and box spring, even though this had never been mentioned to us before. I asked customer service about this and then eventually the owner of the company and was told that we had the option of signing off on it and they would take it as is, my fiancé was not told this, she was told that if she didn't sign for the extra charges then they could not take the mattress. Distressed and feeling bullied she signed. Next they told us that we had to pay for 21 rolls of tape to tape the quilts and blankets onto our furniture. Remember these are the same quilts and blankets that we were told were provided. Apparently the quilts and blankets are provided but the tape to put them on with is not. This came to another $75. When I tried to call and speak to Erika the woman I had arranged the move with she was rude to me for about 5 minutes before telling me this was not her department and she could not help me. She then transferred me to customer service where I was told that I had to pay the movers and then they would send me a check back. I told them I would rather balance the amount I owe and just pay the movers $150 less and was told that I would have to speak with a someone named Sam. I called Sam a few times that day and never received a response back even after leaving a message, that was on a Friday. That following Sunday at 8pm I received a call from the driver telling me that he was going to be at my home 8am the next morning. That morning I frantically tried to get a hold of Joanne and was told that she would be in at 9. I called several times after 9 and was told by others that she was not in, and eventually someone other than her told me that she could not help me and I needed to work it out with the driver and then if I could not have him call and speak with his manager. His name was Sacha. He was uncooperative and when I asked him to call his manager he said that if he did I would be charged an extra $100 for making them wait. I called Sam one more time and finally got a hold of him only to be transferred immediately to Svetlana, the owner of the company. Svetlana cut me off repeatedly and told me that it was now too late to deal with any of the charges and that my fiancé should have called them when the things were being picked up. I am fru

After doing my homework and checking out at least 13 different movers and quotes. i called New York WORST Movers , I WAS BLIND WITH THOSE REVIEWS , I find out later that they all was written by they SCAM MOVERS I was a easy customer! this was a cross country move for my brother in law who is elderly and just lost his wife. i wanted to make sure we made the right choice! Not only did New York WORST MOVERS coast us thousands of dollars more . They were NOT kind and NOT sympathetic to our needs. The movers were not fantastic, NOT careful and NOT efficient! We are very NOT happy! I end up paying much much more & had a HORRIBLE MOVERS - SCAM MOVERS . I feel soo sorry for my brother in law - THOSE SCAM MOVERS WILL PAY HOT PRICE .

Ian, Andrew and Mark came on the 26th at 8am and began working almost immediately, writing down every piece and stickering every box, they put sticky plastic floor covering down on our carpets, cardboard and padding on our hardwood flooring. These 3 men did not stop for a second until everything was wrapped, marked, and loaded which took about 5 hours. After the packing was finished, they picked up our things from Manhattan Mini Storage and delivered everything to Selden, Long Island. They unwrapped everything and it was all intact and in the same condition as it went into their truck. In our opinion, we couldn't have chosen a better more professional company. Our final price including the packing was $3,511.00 which was $290.00 less than the estimate, and we tipped the Ian $500.00 for the job well done. If we ever have to move again, we will be using this Moving Company and will pass on the good word about them and how they operate."

I am in the service and the military used this company to store my household goods. upon returning back to the U.S and having my stuff delivered, I found damaged items and missing items. I filed a claim! 3 months went by and didnt hear from NYC Moving Manhattan Movers, i called and spoke to a young lady that said they didnt have my paper work but stated you are claiming for XX dollars?! Hmm, another 2 months went by and they lost my paper work stating they have nothing on me. I emailed them my stuff today. lets see what they will say. my next step is to inform my JAG office and see what can be done because Uncle Sam spent way more money than what I am claiming. This is so sad. At first it wasnt about the money, but now its about the principle, therefore i am claiming most of my missing or damaged items which comes out to more than what the manager and i settled for. I am sure if i continue to look for stuff i will find more damages and missing items.

Sam and one other man (when I was quoted with 3 men) showed up an hour and 1/2 late because of trouble with their truck. I didnt receive a call saying that they were going to be late until 9am (my appointed time). The did a lazy job with my furnitureXXXdid not put on 2 of the 6 feet on my dresser, cracked the dresser bottom and cracked one of the nobs on my dresser. They made it seems like they were giving me a good deal because I was a referral even though the only reason I used them was because I was referred to them by a friend.

I was very pleased with their service and can't say enough good words about NYC Moving Manhattan Movers that not only moved my 2 bedroom apartment from Upper East Side to Downtown Manhattan on July, 21 but my mother's studio as well. The weather was crazy hot, but they worked without any complaints, they carefully wrapped each piece of furniture up (for free!!!) and did not slow down the move. Mark and his crew were hard workers!! Their office was very helpful calling to make sure everything is going good. They excelled my husband, my mother and mine expectations. I have used Movers in Beverly Hills since moving to the NYC Moving Manhattan Movers area and I have to say I had THE WORST experience IN MY LIFE. The movers were not courteous and not helpful and very RUDE with moving everything. Moving stresses me out severely; I imagine I'm not alone there. We called for quotes from several local outfits and, booked with New York Movers -What a mistake we did - Long Distance & Apartment Movers NYC. Of course, this final decision was influenced heavily by all the outstanding reviews{ by the way , we find out LATER THAT ALL THOSE REVIEWS WAS WRITTEN BY THE COMPANY ITSELF , which at the same time gave me that "too good to be true" feeling. Not so! Those guys set me up in no time , broke several pieces , very RUDE. Hi, my name is Sammy and I was managing my parents' relocation from New York City, NY to Miami, FL where I bought a new house, so I decided to take my parents to Miami but since my job takes all my time I had just a few hours to find a good mover in NYC. My parents are 70+ so it was absolutely impossible for them to set the move themselves, and all I had was the Internet to find a good and reliable Manhattan based moving company being able to provide long distance move from New York City to Miami. I checked 15 something moving companies, their rates and terms, asked dozens of questions and finally I hired NYC Moving Manhattan Movers for my parents' move. The company provided us with the top level of moving( and packing as well since my mom has a lot of stuff to be packed). The delivery was within 2 days and it was the same crew. The rate was exactly as promised, so I'm pretty happy I found these movers.

Our movers that showed up to our home were Greg and Larry, 2 very nice guys who worked very hard and were good at what they did. arrived a little late on moving day but we agreed to let them load and tag everything at 7pm and they were done with their inventory, wrapping, and loading at 11:30. It was later than we wanted but they did great and delivered us 2 days later without any major damage, one item of note, our bureau was scratched from rubbing on our stair railing and they have sent us a claims form and appear to be taking care of it, other than that, no problems and yes we would definately use NYC Moving Manhattan Movers again if we were ever to move out of New York State.

Excellent relocation! Our move with NYC Moving Manhattan Movers was flawless in every sense of the word. we were moved from New York City to Staten Island on June 22th and delivered on May 23rd by Tommy and his 3 helpers. They did a full packing service and unloaded everything at our new home, put everything were we asked, used flooring protection for the new carpets and put down cardboard over our hardwoods. Our price was a little less than the quoted price by $80.00 but less is better than more. Perfect moving experience.

My wife and I used NYC Moving Manhattan Movers for our local move from Hoboken,New Jersey to Brooklyn, NY. The entire process was made seamless by the NYC Moving Manhattan Movers's staff. The moving estimate was provided by a very polite, knowledgeable associate by the name of Nathan. He visited our home and estimated the size of our move. He explained how our furniture would be wrapped and our breakables would be packed. The movers arrived on a timely basis and were ready to work. The movers provided their service in a professional manner. All the movers and packers were very polite and had a genuine interest in packing our belongings to afford them the greatest protection. Our home was packed within the estimated time. All our possessions were transported safely to our new home. The entire moving process was very exhausting. Hired for moving me from New York City to Hoboken, NJ on June,29 2010. The crew arrived on time, the movers worked very good, packed everything. I give them movers a 4-star rating since they send me 3 guys instead of 2 saying there is no way to park a truck without getting a ticket, well anyway I paid $95/hour instead of 75 but it took them 4 hours so for 2 guys it would take like 6? anyway, I'm pretty satisfied with the move. Everyone we came in contact with at NYC Movers from the office personnel to the movers were very helpful and courteous. The move itself could have been a disaster if we had used a different moving company. Thankfully this turned out to be a wonderful, exciting experience instead of what could have been a nightmare.The movers were GREAT !!! I was unsure about using an on line moving service so the reviews of NYC Moving Manhattan Movers were very important to me. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers lived up to their reputation! My move went very smooth and the movers and their Customer Service both did great job helping me, the movers took care packing and delivery without a hitch. They were right on time on both ends. There were no hidden costs, I had no additions to the original planned items but I have heard horror stories of costs being added - this was not the case with NYC Moving Manhattan Movers. I highly recommend this moving company, you will not be disappointed!

We had a good exprience with NYC Moving Manhattan Movers. We had also received quotes from Flatrate and Moishes after they performed an on-site survey. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers went only by the inventory I gave them. Flatrate came at $250 more than NYC Moving Manhattan Movers and they had more negative reviews so we chose NYC Moving Manhattan Movers. Moishe's quote was thirteen hunded dollars more than NYC Moving Manhattan Movers', but their services included full packing of our stuff (so we wouldn't have to pack in advance) plus the cost of boxes. They dropped their estimate $600 when I showed them the lower quotes from Flatrate and NYC Moving Manhattan Movers, which makes me think they were trying to rip me off in the first place by quoting me an inflated rate... on the day of the move, the NYC Moving Manhattan Movers crew showed up 20 mins early (yes, early, I was surprised too). We had to pay $22 extra in tolls, a charge that wasn't brought up when we received the estimate. We also paid $110 for travel time, but this was included in the estimate (I tried to negotiate a lower charge for this in advance but wasn't successful). The estimate was a flat rate, so no surprises at the end (besides the aforementioned toll charge). We did have to pay for some extra boxes, but we knew the price per box beforehand. Please note that we had packed all of our stuff in advance, except a few bulky things. The price quoted included 5 wardrobe boxes, but the supervisor said he would add additional ones at no charge, if needed (I don't think we needed extra). We bought $50 insurance just in case. The movers were carefull with our stuff, including our two big-screen TVs and pedestals. All our glass items (coffee table, TV pedestal pieces, mirrors) made it intact. There was no damage to our furniture or my electronic equipment and 88-key synthesizer. We had four movers and they were all polite. So far, nothing is missing, i think they delivered everything as expected, including the stuff they packed (four medium sized boxes). The movers worked fast. They took two short breaks, one at each location (we bought them coffee and munchies from Dunkin Donuts, which they seemed to appreciate). At the end we tipped them 20% of the total bill (I originally gave them 18% but they asked for a bit more, which I didn't have much trouble giving them). Overall, we had a very good experience. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers made our move less stressful. I would use them again and would recommend their services.

I was recommended by a friend to try NYC Moving Manhattan Movers; and since I couldn't find even one moving company I could trust on in the past, I called NYC Moving Manhattan Movers Moving Company to check rates and to get an estimate. NYC Moving Manhattan Movers different approach was felt immediately; I was given decent rates and a reasonable estimate of time, despite my poor experience in the past; I felt that this time I was given all the information, so there was no room for extra bizarre charges at the end of the move. The move itself was preformed smoothly with a qualified professional fast crew that explained and reported me through out the move about each and every step they make.
